against bigger people is going to be tough tho, so north south / loose passing is another option
It does work for lighter people. I’d use it as part of your combos back into loose passing, if someone wants to stand up and you want to keep them down, and if you’ve already done the work to tire them out.

Brilliant video. Quick question – is there a cue for choosing low vs high head camping? I’m guessing it would be opponent’s choice of frames (say high head vs cross shoulder post)?
Their frames can definitely affect what’s easiest to enter. There will be a couple reasons you may choose one position over another. An example being, if they are keeping a more open guard, it’ll be easier to be head high and sprawl on them typically. Head low can give you a lot of mobility so sometimes it also depends on your goals too.
A head high camp is also better if your opponent is already a bit tired or less explosive in general. You lack mobility without your head on their shoulder. So, when an opponent is fresh and explosive it might be better to first camp with the head low so you are more mobile and able to counter big movements from your opponent (f.e. an agressive dogfight entry attempt).

If you’ve got an overback grip, you can put your far arm into the pocket of your partners hip. Ideally you lock your hands as you clear your feet into a reverse body lock. Hope that makes sense 👍

No idea why its called a position or camping, its a strategy with an end goal, there is not really a position, the fact is that it is often better to take your time passing because when done properly you maintain the pressure advantage and wear your opponent out and spend minimal energy.
Camping like when you set up in an annoying spot in a video game. Not committing fully for a pass while constantly maintaining the position to do so, feels similar to camping or even the BJJ version of edging 😂
@@MacMowat i understand what is meant its just i think its not really equivalent and misses the point of what we are doing and why, there is no rush to pass other than time constraints, if this were a fight you would want every advantage and not to give up any advantage. And time would not be a factor, nor is there any rule or etiquette in a fight, there is only did you win or not, and out thinking and causing your opponent to get tired is a valid and real strategy, the whole camping thing just seems like a kids way of viewing a more complex and more involved situation.
