Big Mouth White Belt
New to Jiu Jitsu, 7 classes in plus 45 minutes of fundamentals prior to each of those 7 classes. I’ve been in different striking style martial arts before. Kickboxing, boxing were fun but I’m trying to keep what little brain cells I have left.
I joke around a lot, to keep the combat light, and my coach told the class today that talking is not allowed in matches. I’m likely overthinking this, but should I be quiet while training except for when talking about instruction? I notice now others are pretty quiet.
Most of my previous striking experience we were all joking around and laughing during training. Just want to know other’s experience and be the best I can for the class and myself. Feeling this out and thinking introverted/serious going forward? I appreciate your insight.
